Reports to: Chief Finance & Administration Officer (CFAO)

 

About myAgro:

myAgro is a non-profit agritech social enterprise based in West Africa. We have developed a mobile layaway model that allows farmers to invest their own funds in high-quality seed, fertilizer, and agricultural training to increase their harvest and income by 50–100%. Our North Star is to support 1 million farmers in 2027, providing them the tools they need to increase their incomes by $1.50 a day. About the Role:

The Vice President of HR Strategy & Operations will lead myAgro’s human resources function with a strong focus on building systems, policies, and processes that support a high-performing and engaged workforce. The VP will ensure that HR operations are effective, compliant, and aligned with myAgro’s growth strategy.

This role is ideal for a collaborative and action-oriented HR leader who can balance strategic initiatives with day-to-day HR operations. The VP will partner closely with the CFAO, country HR teams, and line managers to improve recruitment, retention, compliance, and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities

HR Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead the HR function and implement strategies that support organizational priorities in talent management, recruitment, retention, compliance, and employee engagement.
  • Align HR planning with organizational goals and annual business cycles.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CFAO and Leadership on people-related policies, risks, and initiatives.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee the implementation of HR systems and processes across multiple countries.
  • Strengthen compliance, reporting, and risk management within HR operations.
  • Ensure consistent application of policies and procedures across all locations.

Talent Management & Development

  • Oversee recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
  • Ensure effective onboarding, performance management, and career development frameworks are in place.
  • Support country HR teams in managing employee relations.

Culture & Engagement

  • Support initiatives that foster employee engagement and alignment with myAgro’s mission and values.
  • Develop programs that promote staff wellbeing, work-life balance, and inclusion.

Data & Reporting

  • Leverage HR data and analytics to drive decision-making and improve performance.
  • Provide regular HR reports and dashboards for management.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Strong Operator: Experienced in building and managing HR systems and processes in complex, multi-country organizations.
  • Strategic Thinker: Able to translate organizational goals into practical HR strategies.
  • People Leader: Skilled at managing and developing HR staff across geographies.
  • Compliance-Oriented: Deep understanding of HR compliance, labor law, and risk management, preferably in West Africa.
  • Collaborative Partner: Works effectively with finance, operations, and program leadership.

 

You Have:

  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including international experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in HR operations, compliance, talent acquisition, and employee relations.
  • Experience in non-profit or international development organizations preferred.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication and leadership skills.
  • Fluency in English required; French strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to myAgro’s countries of operation every 4–6 weeks.
