About the Role:
The Deputy Country Director (DCD) for Senegal is a key role responsible for ensuring that myAgro’s programs and sales operations deliver strong results and growth. As the Country Director’s primary deputy, you will oversee Programs (Sales, Agriculture, Training) and ensure that operational functions (HR, Procurement, Logistics, Product/IT, and Administration) effectively support those programs. The DCD also partners with the Country Director on country-wide strategy, ensuring alignment across departments, and represents the organization externally when needed.
While a solid understanding of back-office functions is important, this role’s core focus is on managing and scaling high-performing sales and program teams that drive farmer impact and revenue growth.
You Will:
- Lead and manage country programs, including Sales, Agriculture, and Training, to achieve ambitious farmer reach and sales targets.
- Oversee sales performance and territory management, ensuring the right strategies, incentives, and support systems are in place.
- Strengthen the Village Entrepreneur (VE) Program, focusing on productivity, retention, and performance.
- Ensure program planning, execution, and reporting are timely, accurate, and aligned with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with the Country Director to shape country strategy, set priorities, and ensure cross-departmental alignment. Partner with functional teams (Procurement, Logistics, IT, HR, Admin) to ensure efficient support to field operations.
- Drive data-informed decision-making, using analytics to identify challenges, improve efficiency, and scale success.
- Develop and coach mid-level managers to strengthen leadership capacity and accountability across teams.
- Represent myAgro in meetings with partners, donors, and government officials when required.
- Promote a high-performance, mission-driven culture that emphasizes collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
You Have:
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing large, field-based teams in sales, programs, or agribusiness.
- Proven track record in sales management, program delivery, or rural distribution, ideally in agricultural or last-mile sectors.
- Experience leading managers and improving team performance through coaching and accountability systems.
- Strong strategic and operational skills, with the ability to connect sales performance to operational enablers.
- Familiarity with HR, logistics, and procurement operations as they support program success.
- Data-driven mindset: ability to interpret results, forecast trends, and make informed adjustments.
- Fluency in English and French; knowledge of Wolof is a plus.
