About the Role:

The Communications Associate will report to the Chief of Staff and directly support our Development Team to provide impactful communications campaigns and collateral materials that strengthen myAgro’s external brand, and ultimately, our impact. The Communications Associate will maintain an inventory of promotional materials, documents, reports, and other project publications. They will spearhead social media campaigns and support with grant or report writing when needed.

 

You Will:

  • Visit the field frequently to interview and photograph farmers and staff to gather myAgro impact stories for updates and communications.
  • Connect with country staff to develop content for project communications materials, including success stories, brochures, one-pagers, and other publications, and facilitate their distribution.
  • Lead and support social media content writing and editing.
  • Upload content to the myAgro website and ensure content is up-to-date and relevant to staff and partner needs.
  • Assist with virtual event planning and execution.
  • Assist in editing and formatting publications.

 

You Have:

  • A bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or another related field required.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience in communications or related fields.
  • Strong ability to write in English.
  • Experience supporting marketing and public relations teams.
  • Experience interviewing individuals, especially within underrepresented and vulnerable communities.
  • Photography experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word and PowerPoint) as well as Squarespace, WordPress, Blackbaud, and other digital content management platforms.
  • Experience with video and graphics production.
  • West Africa regional work experience an advantage.
  • Fluency in English and French. Wolof a plus!
